Brook Practices in Spare Scenes

In my group’s second spare scene piece, we chose to perform in the style of Peter Brook. Even before using the main sound and lighting systems in the Black Box Theatre, we had plenty of ideas on how to incorporate those aspects, as well as staging, costumes and props. Our acting was slow paced so that the connection of characters was displayed in many different elements. To emulate Brook theatre, we made sure to place just as much importance on our pauses as on the dialogue.
